The Tire Shoppe Ferndale, MI Mazda Tires FAQ'S
Many customers come into our shop with the same questions and concerns prior to having any sort of mechanical work performed, or purchasing new tires. To save you time and stress, we have posted many previously asked questions regarding this process.
First off, Why are good tires so important for my safety on my Mazda?
Your tires are one of the most fundamental parts on your vehicle. Without tires, you would not be able to get from one point to another, regardless of how fancy your vehicle is. A set of good tires is crucial to your safety, because this is what allows you to take off or stop as quickly as you need to.
Poorly made tires, will not allow you to do this to the fullest capacity. Therefore, this will compromise your safety in more way than one. That is something that we never want you to have to experience; and why we take the time to explain to you the importance of tire safety.
Will I need snow tires in addition to a new set of all-season tires on my Mazda?
This will all depend on your personal needs and driving habits. If you live in a very snowy state with harsh winters; a good set of snow tires is advised. Changing out your tires at winter time to a more durable tire that is specifically made for these conditions is only to benefit you and your safety while on the road.
Although, there are certainly well-made all-season tires that will do that job as well for those who are trying to save money.
What if I only need two new tires instead of four on my Mazda?
This is a very common situation and we will be able to assist you with this with no problems.
Typically, we place the older set of tires on the front and the brand new tires on the rear. This allows the driver to maintain more control, especially while driving on wet or sleek roads. The new tires on the rear will have much more tread to them, which will help prevent hydroplaning as well.
If I need a wheel alignment, should this be done at the time of new tires?
Absolutely yes. If your wheels are misaligned, your new set of tires will not wear properly. This is something that you will not be pleased with in the near future, as your brand new set of tires will not last you as long as you had bargained for.
How often should I have my tires rotated on my Mazda?
-It is recommended that you have your tires rotated at least every 3,000-6,000 miles for proper wear patterns.
Is a spare tire included with a new set of four tires on my Mazda?
No, a spare tire unfortunately does not come with a new set of tires, nor do auto manufacturers include this with the sales of a new vehicle. Despite these facts, you may always purchase a spare tire from us at any time. We highly recommend that you have an extra tire with you at all times, for those unforeseen tire blow outs and flats.
How long should a new set of tires last me on my Mazda?
- On average, a new set of tires should last you anywhere from three to four years. This is based upon the average 12,000-15,000 miles that drivers put on their vehicle annually.
